Making simple rope with 3ds Max

Hello im gonna share how to make simple rope using autodesk 3ds max.

First. start with cylinder

clone this object until you got 4 cylinders on the screen

while all cylinders selected, apply twist modifier, and then change value of twist angle on parameter.

create spline. this spline will be using as guide for how rope will deform. You can make any shape you want.

select one twisted cylinder add edit poly modifier and attach all cylinder as one object

Add PathDeform (WSM) modifier, click pick path and select spline that you’ve created before.

You can also add turbosmooth modifier for smooth result.

and, well done. Simple rope is created.
